society seems to be getting worse. just recently we have had a state parliamentarian charged with child sex offences. whilst some of you may not be surprised that a politician is involved in a scandal, it concerns me. so far (in my lifetime) people convicted of these type of offences have included everyone from members of the general public right up to police personnel and other members of the public service. people who we tell our children that they can trust.
these people are sent to jail for ‘rehabilitation’ and if they make it out of jail, they will more often than not re-offend.
i am in favour of capital punishment. in cases where guilt has been proven beyond doubt then people deserve to pay for their crimes. as crime-fighting technology increases and the margin of error for this technology decreases, i believe that our government must consider increasing the penalty for horrendous crimes.
now, whilst a rapist (ie any kind of sexual predator) has not taken a life per-se, they have irrevocably changed a life for the worse. i believe that people who are too irresponsible to use their genitals correctly, should have them taken away. but whats that, “chemical castration” i hear you cry. it is a well documented fact that whilst chemical castration takes away the man ability to achieve arousal, it does not change the why his mind works. therefore, the solution is castration. followed by a very long period of incarceration.
harsh? maybe. warranted? definitely.
now, as for other criminals i truly believe that the crime should fit the punishment. if you take a life – you lose yours. if you take everything from someone – you lose everything of your own.
you can probably see where i am going with this, so i will stop.
it just pisses me off that our society today lets people get away with these things.

i have been driving for quite some time now. i have done my advanced driving course and i even held my CAMS license for a while (because i thought it was cool — more fool me!
). i consider myself an accomplished driver and whilst i am by no means a professional, i can hold my own.
there are two things (today) that are pissing me off about my fellow drivers.
1. use your freakin indicator
cars have indicators. to the best of my knowledge, this is a worldwide phenomenon. they are used to indicate your intentions to your fellow drivers. it pisses me off when i get caught behind people who are too lazy / stupid / incompetent to use their indicators until the last minute (or in some cases not at all)
2. let people merge
this is sort of connected to the first one. when the traffic is forced to merge into your lane, be courteous and let someone in.by refusing to do so your not only risk causing an accident, or risk getting beaten by other irate drivers (i do not condone road rage — for any reason), but you hold up traffic for everyone. if you are running so late that the two seconds it takes to let someone in is going to affect you, then you are the dickhead that should have left earlier. if you are too cool to let other people merge, then please get over yourself.
driving in Australia (and i’m sure other parts of the world) has become quite dangerous. we have had at least one P-plate fatality a month for the last year. this is mainly because of inadequate driver training and allowing children to drive high powered autos.
the dark part of my heart says “bad luck mate, but you shouldn’t have been driving like a fool / so fast / drunk.” etc etc
if we could just be a little more polite to our fellow drivers there would be less road rage. if we observed and followed the road rules our insurance premiums would be lower. if we trained our children in how to drive properly then no more of them would needlessly die.

customer service has dissapeared. i am sick to death of people ignoring me or treating like a second class citizen, just because i ask for help. its not as if i am standing on a street corner either.
today i took my wife and son shopping. we had to pick up some essentials (not important). after visiting many different stores, we finally came to our last stop. i waited at the service desk, in order to buy smokes (bad habit — i know). i was ignored for five minutes, in favour of people who had gotten there after me. when i passed comment and left, i was harrased by the service provider.
i can no longer keep these things to myself. i need to share them with someone other than my family. so i turn to you, the net community. some of you may feel that i am whinging — if so please post a comment. some of you may feel that i am right — if so please post a comment. if you feel indiffernt that is ok too — please post a comment explaining why.
i cannot be the only one that is fed up with rude people.
